Lexmark printer and vista problems

I have had a problem with my printer showing up in the printer folder. It was working fine and now its not showing up. I have reinstalled it, and it looked as if it installed but its not showing up in the printer folder. It's a Lexmark X4530. I have an Acer 3680 laptop. Now this gets better, it was also installed on my g/f Dell laptop and worked fine, now, same thing.
I go to control panel - printers and it shows lexmark fax. I right clicked and selected properties and in the advanced tab there is a drop down menu next to drivers and it shows the Lexmark 3500-4500 series drivers installed, however when I select and try to apply I get this message.

Printer settings could not be saved. The printer driver is not compatable with a policy enabled on your computer that blocks NT 4.0 drivers. What is this about? Any ideas? Thanks
