Partition table partially damaged?
Hi,
I have a hard disk with only one NTFS partition (Vista is installed).
I'd like to resize/shrink this partition so that I have space to create a new one.
I made the mistake to use Partition Magic 8: It told me that there was some partition error which can be fixed and (unfortunately) I chose to do so.
Consequently, none of my partition tools recognize the partition anymore, so it's not possible to resize it.
I tried Partition Magic, GParted, Acronis and Paragon.
The installed Vista still can boot properly, also a Windows XP live system and a Fedora live system can access this partition without any problems.
This hard disk is brand new, maybe a week old, so it's definitely not defective. I assume Partition Magic's error message was a false positive.
Has anybody any idea? What could be wrong/damaged?
Thanks for any hint!
