vista restore did not work

One of the reasons I new installed Vista was because the restore function did not work anaymore ( and a lot of other trouble). I new installed Vista and now it works fine, except.... the restore function is still in trouble. The computer takes the whole restore procedure butafter logging in again an error message is coming that because of a failure the computer is not restored .

Please help.
