recover lost files ! all

hi , help me please,

vista home premium crashed, attempted to restore to a previous date but all failed, installed vista again from a disk and now all my files have disappeared, lost all music, photos, programmes etc.
Is there any way of restoring them ?
all help would be graetly appreciated.
