URGENT: sophos antivirus problems?!!? URGENT!

Right so i have had my laptop for about a year
its got vista on it
and my dad installed Sophos AntiVirus on it.
however now it wont run
i have a windows security alert telling me it isnt activated yet i cannot turn it on.
i have been on "services" to start it but i get error code
0x80004005?
what is this?
how can i fix this??
this is really urgent.
any help would be appreciated.
