Windows Photo Gallery

When i try to delete photos from Windows Photo Gallery (using Vista) it hangs for ages eventually going to the 'Do you want to delete screen'. I have only had the computer a few months and was fine at first. This is a new problem.

Personally I am not a fan of using any of the pre-loaded stuff Microsoft integrated into Vista. And what makes me mad is you cannot uninstall it or delete it from the system. I have Microsoft Office so I use the Picture Manager that comes with that. But there are free software out there that works just as well.
