Controller Problem

Hi, I'm trying to install Vista and am getting this compatibility error:

Close Windows installation and contact the device manufacturer to get updated drivers for the following devices:

IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers: Standard IDE/ESDI Hard Disk Controller

It's driving me insane. I did everything I could think of, including downloading the latest drivers for my chipset. Anyone know of a way past this?
