More info on the question of opening email attachments:
I have a Lenovo T60p w/Intel Duo core, vista premium. Two browsers; IE7 and Fire fox. I receive e-mails on Yahoo, Hotmail, and MS Outlook/Road Runner. I am unable to open ANY attachments; regardless of size. I als have bitdefender and a malware program.
Problem started with yahoo on firefox. I used to workaround it by forwarding it to my Hotmail on IE or to MS Outlook and open it there. Then for some reason stopped receiving the messages forwarded from my Yahoo/Firefox.
Now I could not open any attachments, regardless of being in Firefox or IE or outlook.
I read somewhere that when the antivirus blocks an attachment because of a virus, it sends a message to the windows system which then blocks all attachments. How could I unblock it?
I have removed (un-installed) Firefox and then re-installed it. Still have same problem.
Any help would be gratly appreciated.
Mike
PS I tried going into the email options/security and and enabling everything. Still no success. Re-set to the default settings .... still same problem!!
