All exe files opens with microsoft picture manager (MPM)

A photofriend sent me a file that had the extension .exe.
Somehow I will have clicked one time to much. Result: alle the exefiles are now opened in MPM. Also systemrestore, regedit etc.
Anyone an idea how to solve theproblem?

Yes restore with a backup, but murphy's law, de BU was in repair!
