Update:
I've given up and installed XP and everything is working fine again. For those of you out there who don't have that option and have to cope with Vista I feel very sorry for you.
Regards all
Hello everyone,
I'm new to all this and in a real pickle. First off I have to say that I am no IT expert by any means so if you are able to understand my problem and help then I'll need fairly non techy instructions.
I have a new laptop onto which is loaded Vista business. I am trying to run a piece of
software on it that has been developed by my employer, but they won't help becuase it's not their own laptop.
The software has a GUI (graphical user interface) which is run by VB6 which in turn then interacts with a whole bunch of excel spreadsheets which are run by some VBA code.
Preferably the software is run via the GUI but can also be run in "spreadsheet mode" though this is a bit trickier and more time consuming.
This software runs fine on XP but will not run in Vista via the GUI it keeps saying it doesn't recognise some of the VBA code though it will run in spreadsheet mode.
I've turned off the UAC but it hasn't helped. Also tried "Run as Administrator" and that didn't work either. Tried different virus software and run in "XP mode". Nothing works
Am getting fairly desperate and thinking about loading XP on the laptop but there appear to be major issues with that as well from other threads I've seen.
Hope someone out there can help.
Thank you
