The Firefox.exe process cannot be terminated (have tried Task Manager) and a reboot is required to fix the problem. Other browsers such as IE or Chrome work OK. I've searched the web and have found hundreds of other reports of this problem, with no fix suggested.
Any ideas ?

I have had this happen a few times....Generally it happens when the RAM is under a large load. windows task manager sucks, it wont close the process because firefox is a locked process...among with many others. Get a different task manager and you will be able to kill the process. I use one called process viewer and it works great. there are many other apps out there that do it.
