All User accounts show as Guest Status
ok This one is weird. I uninstalled a app that I never use today... my system for some reason was taking forever to uninstall the app...(like 2 hours) When I rebooted my accounts are gone from the welcome screen. I have three. One being the "true" admin account which I use when I need to do major edits. One which is my actual profile I use and then the guest account so I can enable file sharing. Which I never actually log into.
It now automatically logs me into the guest account. And when I go to run in safe mode the only account that actually shows is the guest account. and trying to run that account in safe mode gives me a error cannot access sens something or other. (obviously because its not a admin account)
So I went into the guest account to see if the accounts got renamed in the registry. All accounts show up ok in the registry as far as being there. They also show up in the user folder. So the desktops are there. Next I decide to check the account control panel. And to my surprise they all show up as Guest.
I Have not tried a repair yet. But thats my next step. If that doesnt work I am about to reinstall. Luckily I have Ubuntu so I can grab all my needed files if I need to reinstall. But I would like to see if I can get around this for the sake of the challenge.
The biggest problem is since I can only do things with the guest account my access is very limited. I am not sure if there is a way to make reg edits from ubuntu but that would be my way around it.
Any suggestions?
