can't restore

after much reading and trying 2 figure things out, i figure that i can't restore the backup files from my hard disk (after reinstalling vista) because hte backup was made with a split hard disk (most files on the D: disk) and now i only have one disk, which is C:...so how can i get my files from the back up to go 2 C: instead of D:? coz i can't rename the C: disk, that's where vista is installed. anybody that can helpme?

sounds like you reformated the whole drive and wiped out the D drive...so your backup is probably gone.

nope,backup is still on external disk, but yes, teh d is off the computer- which is what the backup is labeled 2 belong 2. so i'm wondering how to change the backup so that it will go back 2 the c instead...
