Error Installing Direct X Runtime Components

Hello,

I have been trying to download the latest direct x components but keep encountering the following error:
An internal system error has occured. Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your Windows folder to determine problem.

When I bring up the error log, this is what I get:

I am running windows vista home premium x64. I downloaded the redistributable from the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...8-9f20f1244a8e

If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it!

Hello!

As per Microsoft site: Explore the features: DirectX 10, DX 10 feature is already included in Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate.

The link you mentioned took me to DX9.0c Nov 08 release. What version of DX do you have?

I do have DX10 installed, this is just an update to DX9 thats required in order for me to play a game. I searched around a lot already and got no decisive answers, but a lot of people have run into this problem as well. I finally got it corrected by reinstalling vista and immediately installing the update. So if anyone else that stumbles upon this that has the same problem, I would recommend reinstalling.
