vista changed my hard drive name automatically?

I have two hard drives, Vista being on my primary C: drive. This morning I was unable to start up vista (error code 0x000014c) and tried to repair vista with the installation disk. The repair program however, could not find my vista installation. I used disk check and mem diagnostic in command prompt and then noticed that my primary drive has been changed to D: instead of C: and my other drive X: was changed to C: Is there a way to resolved this and how did this happen!!!

Hi manicjazzer,

you can change the bootloader disks if you can get to a command prompt.
