Partitioning in Vista
Hi everyone,
I just joined a few weeks ago and I already have a question :-)

I recently bought a pc with Vista Home Premium installed;
On top there┤s a docking station for an extra hd; this extra hd is
500 gb and I need to partition into 5-6 parts.
The hd was already formatted , but the option I need is greyed out
and format seems to be the only option.
Can this be true? I understood that formatting is performed after
each partitioning.
I almost forgot to tell that the hd is fat32 format and I understand that
when partitioning/formatting I can/should choose the NTFS format?
I┤m the administrator and the UAC is active.( disabling it didn┤t help )
Have a nice day, all!
I hope someone can enlighten me *S*
Cheers Camilla

Re: Partitioning in Vista
I think it's true, and of course you can change it to NTFS..
if you can't partitioning you HDD from bootable disk, you can always partitioning it from your OS (Vista Home Premium).

Follow the steps =

o start-->write computer management on search and [ENTER]
o see Storage at left panel and double click it to expand, then choose Disk Management
o right click your disk and choose Shrink Volume
o then enter volume (in MB) you want to shrink
o if you finished entering your volume, click shrink
o wait
o after finished, volume you've entered will be unallocated, then right click it and choose New Simple Volume
o then enter volume (in MB)
o wait
o you've finished

Little simple right...??

Hope useful..
