cyclic redundancy while backing up the files either on hard disk or on a cd.

Dear sir,
i am facing this problem.I want to create a back up for my computer but its always showing me a message check cyclic redundancy.How can i remove it and get rid of it.I also tried after changing the cd bu its still happening.Then i tried to restore my computer but i had never created a back up for my computer so am not able to do that also.
Please help me.

Heyy i got it.I just checked errors by clicking right on c drive and clicked on properties and then on tools.There i found check for errors and rectify it automatically.And after the errors are checked and automatically fixed i did back up for my computers.
