USB Easy Tranfer code 10 can't Update

Hi,
I can not update the drivers for Easy Transfer and Mobile Based Device in the Device Manager. I tried everything even bought RegistryFix6 software
I think the problem occured when I was using Sony Raw Image Data Converter about a month ago
I can use all USB devices except my external HDD which is 80 GB USB powered
I even deleted one of the USB Easy Transfer cable Drivers trying to fix the problem
Appreciate any help
My Laptop is a HP dv 2000 pavillio, 106 GB, 997 RAM AMD turion 64, with Windows Vista Basic, just over a year old, bought it whilst teaching in Korea
Appreciate any help
