Unable to install SP1

I'm unable to install SP 1. I've tried running Sfc/scannow per the sp1 support web page but the Windows Resource won't allow sfc to finish. Yes, I ran SFC in Admin mode. I checked to see if all updates prior to sf1 had posted correctly. I have two updates that consistently fail, a Security update, KB 938123 and a regular update KB942763 (a Daylight Savings Time update) Both fail (even using the standalone installer) with the same msg, "Update doesn't apply to my machine. I'm currently running vista ultimate. Anyone have any ideas on what's gong on? Thanks.
