Vista ultimate will not install no matter what
I have been trying to install vista for a long time now and I am not getting anywhere in the least bit. Install seems to go well up until completing installation. then I get the message "windows could not configure one or more system components, please restart"
Hardware:
MSI p35 platinum combo
2x WD 500gb SATAII HDD's
Quare core intel
2gb DDRII ram
Sata DVD Drive (IDE also available)
I have been reading around and I cannot seem to find the answer to this particular problem.
I have tried formatting with an XP disk, then reformatting in vista and same error. tried using the ide drive to install, and changed raid mode in bios to IDE and still fails.
I also tried loading the additional ICH9r driver and it does nothing as well.
does anyone have any rational ideas that does not involving sacrificing a goat or something to get this thing going. I am going crazy
