Another Dual Monitor Problem

Hello all,

Stumbled upon this site and it looked rather informative/helpfull.


I'm running Vista Home Premium and have a 20" LCD monitor as my primary and an older 19" CRT as a secondary. (ATI 2900xt card)

I can set my secondary up just fine as I position it and get set the resolution just fine.

Turn the computer off, or if it's in stand by long enough I'll come back and the secondary monitors set position will default it back to the right hand side of my primary and the resolution will default it back to 640x?? whatever.

I've tried numerous times re-installing drivers and using drive cleaner pro, etc. to no avail. It only takes 30 seconds or so to change things back the way I want them, but day after day it's starting to pi** me off and getting really old.


Any suggestions?


Sometime in the next month I'll be updating the CRT to an LCD, or rather the 20" LCD will be my secondary and an new 24" will be taking it's place.
