problems importing Outlook-E-mail-messages into Windows mail

Hello All,

When trying to import my old messages from Outlook Express 6.0 into Windows mail I'm getting the message when selecting the folder in which I have put the DBX files (translated from dutch): "no search results". When I ignore this message and continue then I get the message (also translated from Dutch) "Can not find messages in this folder or ..... etc. etc."
I do not understand the message because I am sure that in this folder my old "Postvak IN" (without an extention but of the type DBX file) is present (and all the other message-boxs).

Does anybody know how I can solve this problem and how I can import the messages from Outlook Express.

I would very much appreciate some help !

Hi John,

welcome aboard How are things in The Netherlands?

I once helped a friend who could not import messages in Vista.

What I did was create a folder on the desktop called inboxold I opened Outlook. Selected all the messages he wanted to carry over. I then Dragged and Dropped the emails into the folder inboxold.

I then put these on a USB key and did the reverse when putting them into Windows Mail.

I hope you can understand this explanation.

Thanks a lot ! Since your simple but very effective suggestion, things are a lot better in the Netherlands (for me).

I spent many hours on importing the messages without result. With your simple method the job was done in less than a hour !
