'Application stop working'

First thread and what a frustrating one - I unboxed my new Vista machine, gone through the process of setting everything up. Unistalled Norton and went online to download AVG. AVG Downloaded with no problems - then when I went to install the program an error message popped up. I tried to do the same with clamwin and other similar anti-virus web software - all have the same the problem.

Its seems that anything I download and install from the web the bloody machine won't do it - however anything I install from disc is OK - Has anyone got any answers please...

Hi hontwood,

first of all we need to ensure that Norton is completely removed.

Please see Download and run the Norton Removal Tool for info on how to completely remove it. I have had to use this method a few times.

Please make sure also that you right click on the setup file and select Run As Administrator,
