If I install software from virus infected setup file burned in a CD does it infect my system?

Recently my PC has been infected with win32sality and some other viruses.I have decided to reformat my PC on my friends suggestions.But I have some setup files in my hard disk that is needed after format.So I have planned above trick & don't know if it works or not.
Any help would be appreciable

Noooop,,,, Win32 Sality is a virus which attacks all the boot locations shortcuts of all ur partitions...
Like system volume information and Recycle bin which r generally hidden in os as protected system files.

No win32 virus infect the system unless they r executed. If u insert the cd don't open it directly by double clicking rather explore it everytime u hav 2 open or just follow the auto run menu option 2 open folder 2 view files.
