Windows Defender error 0x800106ba
This scenario is caused as a result of the inability of two almost identical applications, to coexist on the same platform. It has been found that after current updates McAfee is negating Windows Defender automatically.
As both applications feature the same functions, and since McAfee is constantly updating itself, McAfee recommend you to disable the Windows Defender, so that you will not receive this error message again.
The process for this is as follows For Windows Vista Ultimate:
Close all windows.
Click Windows “Start” icon from the left bottom corner of your desktop.
Click “Programs” and then click “Accessories”.
You can see “Command Prompt” icon listed in there.
Do not click on it directly.
Right click the mouse button on the “Command Prompt” icon and then select “Run as Administrator” option.
Type MSCONFIG and enter.
You will get system configuration Window opening.
Click on the Startup tab in MSCONFIG window.
Remove the tick mark from the Option Windows Defender.
Click apply then OK button.
To complete this action system need to restarted.
