A subsidiary of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) said yesterday that a glitch in its system, not computer hackers, was responsible for the error seen in the Department of Justice (DOJ) website last Thursday.An official of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), who requested anonymity, said Jessica Powell, e-PLDT vice president for sales and marketing director, sent a one-page letter of apology to Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez. Powell said they learned that the amusement park Enchanted Kingdom website penetrated the DOJ website and immediately conducted an inquiry. They dismissed earlier allegations that it was done by computer hackers.
