Printer keeps going offline

I have a HP Officejet 4500 connected to a laptop wirelessly and a desktop via USB. On my laptop the printer goes offline occasionally, but I uncheck "use priner offline" and it comes online again. On the desktop, the printer goes offline all the time and it is difficult to get back online. Sometimes restarting the computer and/or printer works but I am tired of this happening. I have been trying to find a solution, and I have made sure the SNMP is disabled, as this was some advice I read elsewhere. Not sure what else to do. Oh, and on the desktop the troubleshooter says the printer is off, which it isn't.

It may be due to windows using the port number for your printer. Check the port number of your printer. Even if Windows is using the correct port number on the computer from which you cannot print, creating a new port by following these steps.
·Open the windows control panel.
·Click the option to view your printers.
·Right click the printer’s icon and click properties.
·Click the ports tab.
·Click add port
·Click the option standard TCP/IP port and then click new port.
·Follow the onscreen instructions to create the new port with the printer’s correct IP address.
