Document stays in the queue and does not print

I bought a HP F2280 to go with the kids laptop (ASUS). Is supposed to be vista compatible. Everything seems ok but the document stays in the print queue, does not print and cant be deleted. I have spent hours on the phone to HP, but no solution. I have tried deleting and reloading printer drivers, checking connections, changing cable. Any ideas?
