Networked HP 5550 NO Preferences

Hi there,

I am trying to get to my printer preferences on my HP 5550 deskjet printer. I have the printer attached to a Win XP Home addition desktop machine. I jsut purcheased my new laptop which has Vista Home Premium. The printer works fine, the problem is when I attempt to access the printer preferences I can't, a window appears for a split second and then disappears. I have attempted to delete and readd the printer form the desktop and laptop. I have loaded th most recent driver from HP on my desktop. Again the printer is working fine I jsut cna't access the preferences, which is a pain cause I can't change to draft mode. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you ever get this problem resolved? I just purchased a new laptop and have encountered the exact same problem with Vista Home Premium and my previously perfectly functioning 5550. Thanks.
