Vista Wireless Network

I have a wireless network via a Netgear CVG824G Wireless Cable Voice Gateway. It is connected directly to the internet and is also connected to my desktop PC which runs XP professional. One of my laptops, a Compaq Presario something uses Vista Home Basic and can connect to the network. My other desktop however, another Compaq, uses Vista Home Premium and cannot connect to the network via a Netgear WG111v2 Wireless USB adapter. I always get a message saying "Connection to OptusVB320DA was cancelled" "This might be due to timeout or user action"
I have tried restoring my system but to no avail.
Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
