I have two vista computers on a network that worked perfectly. The printers were added to the laptop and worked fine. I don't know when it happened but the wireless laptop cannot connect to the printers on the wired desktop. They are no longer installed in the laptops printer folder. When I go to add network printer on the laptop it shows the printers but when I click on one of them it says "Windows cannot connect to printer - make sure the name is correct and the printer is connected to the network" or something quite similar. The printers worked before so I'm stumped. I tried adding as local printer but when i type in printer address it says it cannot be found. I tried uninstalling printer and reinstalling with same results. Both printers are connected via usb to desktop. When i connected a printer directly to laptop it worked so any help would be appreciated. One is an HP Deskjet f4200 and the other is a kodak esp-3. i don't know if this happened before or after vista sp2 because i don't print too often from laptop. Oh yes and both computers can access shared and public folders on each other and printer sharing is turned on.
