Vista can't access XP Pro, but XP Pro can access Vista
I have two computers networked. One is XP Pro SP2, the other is Vista Home Premium SP1. Network is set up on XP. Windows firewalls are turned on for both computers. Both computers "see" each other on the network. XP can connect and see all files on Vista. Vista can "see" XP but cannot access it. With firewalls on, I can ping the XP, but if I try Net View, I get system error 53, network path not found. I have file and print sharing turned on for both computers. The only way I am able to access the XP from the Vista properly is to turn off Windows Firewall on the XP. As both computers are connected to the internet at all times, I cannot leave the firewall turned off. I am fairly computer literate but this is my first attempt at networking. Can anyone tell me what I need to do (step by step) in the XP Windows Firewall to allow the Vista access?
