error: windows\system32\rundll32

After having consecutive improper shut downs due to a lose power cord, when restarting my system the following error message pops up:

RunTime Error!
windows\system32\rundll32\exe

are there any reliable "fixes" that are user friendly or is this a problem that must be taken to the "professionals" to fix?

Thanks for ANY input regarding this!!
