DVD drive will not erase/format
I have a Lite-On ATAPI iHAP222 8 ATA DVD drive will not erase or format a brand new DVD-RW disc.
Question: Do I have to set a region for the drive? I ask this because I went to the Lite-On site and a tech told me that was necessary for the drive to read or write. HOWEVER, in the past it has read and written. No region was set. In fact, the problem goes to the drive taking forever to get to a point where I can even right click on it, or try to look at its directory.
I do not intend to watch movies with this drive, so the region setting is of no concern to me.
I have no spyware, malware, or viruses.
The drive will read a CD, and play it.
