MS11-009 - Important: Vulnerability in JScript and VBScript Scripting Engines Could Allow Information Disclosure (2475792) - Version:2.0
Severity Rating: Important - Revision Note: V2.0 (March 8, 2011): Clarified the Affected Software to include Windows 7 for 32-bit Systems Service Pack 1, Windows 7 for x64-based Systems Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems Service Pack 1, and Windows Server 2008 R2 for Itanium-based Systems Service Pack 1. See the entry to the section, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Related to This Security Update, that explains this revision.Summary: This security update resolves a privately reported vulnerability in the JScript and VBScript scripting engines. The vulnerability could allow information disclosure if a user visited a specially crafted Web site. An attacker would have no way to force users to visit these Web sites. Instead, an attacker would have to convince users to visit the Web site, typically by getting them to click a link in an e-mail message or Instant Messenger message that takes users to the attacker's Web site.
