Well - since you gave information, not complete information, but some - one
can assume you are not speaking of Windows XP Service Pack 3 but Microsoft
Office 2003 Service Pack 3.
Correct?
If so - my suggestion is to uninstall your Microsoft Office 2003 and reboot
and install it back from scratch using the media you do have. You mention
"Excel (Works 2003)" --> and I did not know Excel ever came with Works - it
sort of defeats the reasoning behind Works after a certain point if the
Microsoft Office products can all be gotten with the Microsoft Works
product. ;-)
