Windows Update Problem
Hello, I have not received any updates in quite a while so I tried to do it
manually. I get this message, " Files required to use Windows Update are no
longer registered or installed on your computer. I select the "Register or
reinstall the files" and then get 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. I
reinstalled all of the .dll files, that were recommended, but I still am
receiving the error. Any help would sure be appreciated.

Always state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista 64-bit SP2;
Win7 RC; Win7 RTM) when posting in a forum or newsgroup. Please do so in
your next reply.

I too am having this exact issue. I am using Windows XP Home Premium
on a Dell Mini 10 (netbook). I also re-registered all the usual dll's
with no sucess.
