server 2003 not accessing microsoft.com

I have a server I'm getting ready and for some reason I can connect to
Microsoft updates and there web page, but as soon as we make it a domain
controller it will no longer connect to microsoft.com, microsoft updates,
even for some reason symentec.com. I have been trying to get this to work for
two days now. Reinstalled it three or four times, always the same issue.

Not a Windows Update problem, so you'd probably get better advice in a more
suitable newsgroup. At a guess this is a DNS issue; check your IP
configuration. What happens when you type

nslookup www.microsoft.com

in a command window?
