Dear all,
the OS I use is Windows Vista Business 64 Bit with SP1 and all available
patches (except Update for Windows .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 KB 951847).
When I try to install SP2 (KB948465), I get the following error
code:"Code 80070057".
So I ran the command sfc /scannow and obtained the following message
(translated from German into English):
"Damaged files have been found which could not be repared. Please take a
look at CBS.log."
Doing this, I noticed at the end of the log several dozens of lines
looking like that:
2009-06-21 11:25:53, Info CSI 000002db [SR] Cannot
repair member file [l:14{7}]"wmp.dll" of Microsoft-Windows-MediaPlayer-

So I assume I have a problem with files in my WinSxS directory, but I do
not have any idea how to resolve this. I assume my problems with SP2 go
along with the fact that I had not been able to install the SP1 for .net
framework 3.5 (KB 951847), too.
I already tried to re-install the .net framework components via
"Enabling Windows Functions", but this did not work either. From the
offered three subcomponents below "Microsoft.NET Framework 3.0", I only
get a checkmark for the "XPS-Viewer"; the remaining two components could
not be installed.
There is no general problem with Windows Update since I use it
successfully to install hotfixes, Defender-updates etc.
It would be great if any of you had an idea how to resolve this issue. I
hope I did the right things to help you get an idea about the error. In
case more information is required, please let me know.
Thanks in advance and best regards
Oliver
