Microsoft may have pulled that security update. I installed it on May
13 and it caused a problem in my powerpoint presentations-- video
files would no longer play in full screen mode and the program would
crash. They would play fine in edit mode.
I worked with a Microsoft tech for 16 days. He was able to get the wmv
files working by working with the codecs, but not the avi files. He
suggested I install K-Lite. That allowed the avi video to show full
screen, but there was now no audio. Furthermore, none of the avi files
on my computer now have audio.
I have not heard anything more since June 3.
The only other suggestion he had was to uninstall and reinstall Office
2007. Instead, I am going to uninstall Office 2007 and reinstall
Office 2003. I am also going to unistall K-Lite.
I suspect other have had this problem.
