Cant search for updates

I keep trying to search for updates but i keep getting a notice stating that
my computer cant search for updates. I let my computer search for updates for
an hour long and it did not work.

Service Pack Level?
When this started/last time you remember it working and what changed in
between then and now?
What you have done (if anything) to try and remedy the situation?
(Even if it is "I rebooted..")

What ope�ating system and service pack are you currently using?, and what is
the antivirus/security suite installed and is a 3rd party fiewall being used
??.

So it never gives up and gives you an error?
