Blue screen after installing Windows Updates

I'm receiving "blue screens" and the only new changes are recent Windows
Updates. I haven't added hardware or software, just the windows updates. My
Internet Explorer won't work properly either (I use IE6... not trust 7 or 8).
I cannot keep the computer running long enough to remove the Windows Updates
before I receive a "blue screen" again.

Suggestion?

Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP2) when
posting to this newsgroup.

Assuming WinXP...

Reboot into Safe Mode | click on Start | Settings | Control Panel | System |
Advanced (tab) | Startup and Recovery | Settings (button) | System Failure |
Automatically restart <=uncheck | OK your way out & reboot into normal
(Windows) mode.

Now you'll see a STOP Error on the BSOD and the computer will not
automatically reboot.

What's the full STOP error?

Thanks for your timely reply.

Sorry, should have posted this too, Windows XP Professional 2002 Version SP3

I have performed the procedures as you requested. So, do I wait for the blue
screen again? This time during the normal reboot I did not get a request
option to send the information to Microsoft. Previously, when I would say yes
to sending this information but I would receive error messages in sending the
error information.

Anyhow, no blue screen yet.
