cannot restore a hidden update
XP pro
Sp 2, ie8

I check the file to be restored; then a custom scan at WU, but never see the
restored file.

Perhaps the update in question has been superseded.

Oh, good point.
However, after a third Custom Scan, the file showed up and d/l successfully.
