IMPORTANT !!!

I fixed my friends computer using John Bailey's instructions (using the
corrected link of course), but I did it in a much simpler way.

I was able to log on via SAFE MODE. And then I corrected everything
using his instructions perfectly.

Thanks to all people who do "this". Take the time to post fixes so
others can Google the problem and get back online.

I had a slightly different twist to this exact error. Old users could
log on, but new users could not create profiles.
Under C:\users is a hidden file called "Default". I renamed it
default_bak. Then I coppied over the Default file from a working
machine. Problem solved. Hope this can help someone out.
