Cryptographic Service Error 126

Been trying to install updates from Windows Update on Vista Premium with no
success. I found one answer about the cryptographic service but when I went
onto services to put it to manual, I found that it had failed to install. I
clicked to start it, but the error message 126 came up - the service could
not be found. Any suggestions on how I can reinstall this please?

Windows version and IE version and what updates are you trying to install

Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Vista. Loads of updates to install - most
importan being Vista Service Pack 1 and then security updates - since 1/11/08
