Re: Another intenet connectivity problem after updating
Always state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP1) when
posting to this newsgroup.
NEVER use System Restore to "undo" an update! Always uninstall it. Having
used System Restore may have created even worse problems for you now and you
may be looking at a "wipe & reload."
Did you install IE8 before or after you installed the April updates?
(KB963027 was not offered to machines running IE8.)
Was the machine fully patched prior to 14 April?
What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?
What third-party firewall (if any)? Were any of these applications running
in the background when you installed IE8 and/or a Windows Service Pack?
Has a Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on this machine
(e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought it)?
