Internet Connection Problem After Installing MS Security Update KB956572
I have a Dell Dimension 8200 computer with windows XP Pro (SP3), BoClean,
Malwarebyte Anti-Malware, ESET NOD32 AntiVirus, and ZAPRO installed on my
computer. Prior to the install of the update KB957572, have not had any
problems connecting to the internet (DSL).
Saturday, I installed all the applicable April 2009 MS Security updates
without any problems (manually downloaded each update, disconnected from the
internet, disabled all security programs - and then installed/rebooted each
update without any problems)
I did not initially install KB956572 because it appeared to be the same as
KB952004. After making the initial update installs, I return my computer to
a normal security and went to the MS Update web site and found that my
computer needed the KB956572 update. Since it was a single update, I went
ahead and had it automatically download and install while connected to the
internet. The install appeared to be okay. I then rebooted as suggested
and when the computer returned to windows, ZAPRO gave a popup alert -
"Services and Controller app is trying to use Generic Host Process for Win32
Services to act as a server." I was given a choice of Allowing or Denying
the request. I initially denied the popup request but unfortunately found
out that I could not access the internet. I rebooted the computer and had
the same ZAPRO popup alert appear again. I then selected Allow and was able
to connect to the internet.
I am concerned because my computer is a standalone computer and it not meant
to be a server. If I understand the ZAPRO popup alert message correctly, it
wants my computer to be server. Any help would be very much appreciated.

P.S. I found the KB956572 update log in he windows folder and it is as

Re: Internet Connection Problem After Installing MS Security Update KB956572
PA Bear, thanks for your reply. Initially, I had thought about going to the
ZA User Forum but decided not to since the problem began with the KB956572
install. Also listed in the KB956572 log on my computer, are some failures
that appear to be Microsoft problems only. Thanks, Sam.

Re: Internet Connection Problem After Installing MS Security Update KB956572
I'd still check with other ZA users and make sure ZA Pro is fully-updated &
the most-recent version.
If you want to pursue this with MS (who'll probably ask if you see the same
behavior if you disabled ZA and then enabled the Windows Firewall)...
For home users, no-charge support is available by calling 1-866-PCSAFETY in
the United States and in Canada or by contacting your local Microsoft
subsidiary. There is no-charge for support calls that are associated with
security updates. When you call, clearly state that your problem is related
to a Security Update and cite the update's KB number (e.g., KB999999).
If your problem relates to a Cumulative Security Update for IE, call the
above number and ask to be transferred to the "Consumer IE queue" (which is
47830).
Start a free Windows Update support incident request:
https://support.microsoft.com/oas/de...spx?gprid=6527
Support for Windows Update:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/wusupport
For more information about how to contact your local Microsoft subsidiary
for security update support issues, visit the International Support Web
site: http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx
For enterprise customers, support for security updates is available through
your usual support contacts.
