Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 & .NET Framework Family Update KB9518
Hi,
I have Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 & .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix KB928366;
.NET Framework 2.0 SP2 beta; .NET Framework 3.0 SP2 beta &
..NET Framework 3.5 beta installed on my pc.
Windows Update keeeps informing me to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
SP1 & Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update KB951847 x86?
If I attempt to update with these two updates they both fail.
As .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is a cumulative update for previous .NET
Frameworks [2.0; 3.0; & 3.5] should I uninstall the individual Frameworks and
install the Cumulative Update or simply ignore the Update?
Regards

Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP1) when
posting to this newsgroup.

1. Before doing anything else, write down the .NET Framework versions which
are already installed:

How to determine which versions of the .NET Framework are installed and
whether service packs have been applied
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318785

2. Now see Resolution Method 2 in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923100
(ignore the title). After running the appropriate/needed tool, (re)install
all .NET Framework versions manually using the download links on the page.

NB: You'll want to install .NET Framework 3.5 (not the beta).

3. Now run Windows Update manually.

Re: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 & .NET Framework Family Update KB9518
Uninstall the Beta versions of .NET
that are installed on your computer
and then either use Windows Update or
download the .NET 3.5 file to your hard drive
and then install the update.

NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

SP1 also includes cumulative servicing updates to the .NET Framework 2.0 and
..NET Framework 3.0 subcomponents. Microsoft has also included the NET
Framework 2.0 SP2 as part of 3.5 SP1. You have the choice of using the
bootstrapper or downloading the "Full Package" Service Pack file. In your
particular case I would use the bootstrapper option (small download file
size) located near the top of the Microsoft article contained in the link I
posted above.
