DOS NetWork Commands

I am runnig an upgrade version of Vista on a Dell Inspiron 9300 and have
recently lost the capabilities to go to a DOS window and run ipconfig,
nslookup, net use or any other network command. I used to have these
function when I first did the upgrade from XP sp2.

How do I get that functionality back? Is there an .ini file that may have
been renamed?

We deal with Windows Updates here, not upgrading Windows, Javier.
