Re: Vista error 80070020

Hey guys, I have had this problem-inability to get the windows
updates-for a few months now. I have gone from Bitdefender to McAffee
and back.
I paid iyogi a chunk of money and they were unable to help me with
this.
They finally said I would probably have to reinstall Vista.

If anyone finds out the answer to this quandry, please drop me an
email.

What was their analysis?

The error means

<cmd_output OS="XPsp3">
E:\>net helpmsg 32

The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
</cmd_output>

So disabling and stopping a process (not just disabling it) would be
a good idea *if* you know that's the right one.

So, far in this 2 year old thread nobody has given any details
to know what the circumstances are which produce the error code.
However, I suspect that you won't all be trying to install the same
update. ; }
